Talk: May 27, 2022 MN 22 Simile of the Snake - Alagaddupama Sutta
A monk named Arittha gives rise to a pernicious view that conduct prohibited by the Buddha is not really an obstruction. The Buddha reprimands him and, with a series of memorable similes, stresses the dangers in misapplying and misrepresenting the Dhamma. The sutta culminates in one of the most impressive disquisitions on non-self found in the Canon.
Dhammachariya Delson Armstrong leads his second retreat of the year at Dhamma Sukha on May 19-29 for 10 Days. The practice is TWIM or Tranquil Wisdom Insight Meditation with the object of Lovingkindness or Metta. Practicing in this way is based on the earliest Buddhist Suttas and leads to the ultimate supra-mundane state Nibbana.
