Talk: May 27, 2022 MN 22 Simile of the Snake - Alagaddupama Sutta
A monk named Arittha gives rise to a pernicious view that conduct prohibited by the Buddha is not really an obstruction. The Buddha reprimands him and, with a series of memorable similes, stresses the dangers in misapplying and misrepresenting the Dhamma. The sutta culminates in one of the most impressive disquisitions on non-self found in the Canon.

The Upanisa sutta list the 23 links or the full series of Dependent Origination. Usually we just talk about the 12 links which is from Ignorance to Suffering. But the suffering link is the condition for the next 11 links to arise which finally culminates in Nibbana. In other words, it is suffering which leads to the desire to get off the wheel.
